These are fantastic! Full confession...I'm not sure why I've spent umpteen dollars buying natural chicken and turkey sausages just because we are gluten-free and aim to eat healthier foods. These healthy breakfast turkey sausage patties are a cinch to make and best of all, they freeze easily both uncooked and cooked, so you can always have some on-hand for a healthy breakfast, snack, or breakfast for dinner (AKA brinner).
Healthy Breakfast Turkey Maple Sausage Patties (Paleo, AIP Diet-Friendly)
Ingredients:
1 pound ground turkey
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves, chopped
2 teaspoons ground sage
1 tablespoon fresh rosemary leaves, chopped
2 garlic cloves, minced (or use a garlic press)
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper (omit for AIP)
2 tablespoons olive, avocado, or coconut oil
Instructions:
Place the turkey in the freezer for 20-30 minutes to make it easier to work with.
Combine the turkey with the maple syrup, herbs, salt and pepper. Mix well to combine.
Form into sausage patties by hand.
Use either of these cooking methods:
Serve fresh or store in the fridge for up to a few days, or in the freezer for longer.
Note: You can freeze leftover fresh herbs in a freezer bag to use at a later time.
Enjoy!
